This year has been a strange one for weddings, and well, events in general. Morgan and Jalen’s wedding was my LAST one of the season! It was a strange feeling. However, my wedding photography season couldn’t have ended on a better note.
Their wedding had a different vibe than many I have photographed, or any. They had a darker/moodier venue with a maroon color palette. The Sanctuary on Penn was actually one of the venues that my husband and I looked at (6 years ago!). It is such a neat place. There isn’t a space that couldn’t be photographed beautifully.
When I met (virtually) with Morgan to talk about final details we went over the things that she loved about her venue. She liked the cocktail room, the spiral staircase, downstairs in the bridal suite and also the main ceremony/reception room. We ended up taking the majority of their wedding photos inside (which doesn’t happen often) because the space was beautiful and it was a smidge chilly outside.
Their wedding went off without a hitch, or too many of them at least…. a groomsman almost toppled the cake before it was cut (lol/eeeek!). Their videographer was able to capture that moment. Morgan had a beautiful first look with her dad (tears of course). And Morgan’s brother-in-law officiated. It was a perfect day for them. Congratulations you two!
