Let's be completely honest here and begin with a hard truth. Family photography sessions with children are stressful for parents. Does that ring true for you? If it does, then I have something that can help. I have a background in therapy. I am great at meeting clients where they are. I do not expect a picture perfect session in which all children smile like angels. That is unrealistic. I expect to be a little silly, to be flexible, and to take play breaks. The fun part; I photograph those play breaks. Those are the moments that feel the most genuine to me. The images that I am always drawn to. The in-betweens. The accidents and bloopers. If you want a full session of silliness and cuddles, reading books and making cookies, then let's chat about a lifestyle session in your home. Personally, my favorite images of my children are when they are doing everyday activities. Chasing chickens, playing with water, sitting on steps, and giving me a devious grin before jumping off something. These days don't last forever.

These images are going to decorate your home, be preserved in an album and get shared with family and friends. You need to love them! Therefore, you need to love my artistic style. Two.
Let's chat about your vision! What do you want this session to look like? If you need help deciding on location, I have a list of favorites depending on type of scenery. We will talk about outfits for your session and how to best represent you. Finally, I will send over a contract and 50% deposit invoice to complete your booking.
Book your Family Session
Three.
We will begin your session around sunrise or before sunset if it is outside; these are the best times for beautiful sunlight. If you have chosen a lifestyle session, it will be late morning or early afternoon. We need pretty light inside your home. During your session you can expect me to pose you and give you direction, but also to encourage you to have fun and be a little silly. (We will chat beforehand to get an idea of what your want your session to entail.) I will always make sure that you look great! I understand that we typically print the images that we feel confident in.
Your Session
Four.
You will receive your gallery of edited images 2-3 weeks after your session. There will be a minimum of 40 images in your gallery. You will be assigned a download PIN so that you can quickly grab your images and save them to your own devices. If you want your prints/albums/canvases to be better quality, then you can order through the gallery. We can decide what would look best in your home/on your shelf/wherever you want it.
The Gallery
Five.
I offer two types of family sessions: outdoor and lifestyle. There are quite a few differences in these options. An outdoor family session takes place....outside.... and is more of a portrait session (group photo, individual photos, kids photos, etc.) This is what you would want to use to update those photos around your house. A lifestyle family session takes place in your home. I recommend playing games, baking something together, reading books, cuddling, etc. This is a session that captures the essence of your family unit. These can be used to decorate and/or document life stages.
